Cookie Issues

When visitors to our site will have difficulty logging in to access subscriber features, sometimes the problems are caused by the temporary Internet file — or “cookie” — settings on the browser they are viewing our site with.

Virginia Lawyers Weekly’s Web site requires that “cookies” be enabled and your “security settings” set to medium in your browser. Cookies enable you to perform a variety of tasks in a single session without having to provide your password over and over again.

“Cookies” are considered a security issue and many network administrators advise users not to modify browser settings. Be sure to consult with your network administrator before making any changes to your computer.

The following instructions are provided to help you set your browser to accept cookies from Virginia Lawyers Weekly.

Internet Explorer 6.x

  1. Start internet Explorer
  2. Select “Internet Options” from the “Tools” menu.
  3. Click on the “Privacy” tab and click on the “Edit” button at the bottom.
  4. Type the exact address of the Web site, and click “Allow“.

Note: you will need to close and reopen your browser for this to take effect.

Netscape 7.x

  1. Start Netscape
  2. Bring your mouse over to “Cookie Manager” from the “Tools” menu.
  3. Click “Unblock Cookies from this Site
